Mike and El’s respective albums released within a week of each other in May 2012, and the two embarked on a twenty-city US tour in the following months. Music, and Mike featured on El-P’s final solo album Cancer 4 Cure. The duo’s chemistry was immediate, as El-P went on to produce all of Killer Mike’s 2012 last solo album R.A.P. Jason informed Mike, “If you want AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted modernized, the only producer I know who comes close to the Bomb Squad-level of production is El-P”. After his 2011 album P元DGE peaked at #115 on the US charts, Killer Mike told Jason that he wanted to make his own AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted. The duo consisting of Atlanta rapper Killer Mike, and legendary underground producer/MC El-P, known together as Run The Jewels, originally came together as a result of Adult Swim executive Jason DeMarco who introduced the two in 2011. While a Formula 1 car is powered by a V6 hybrid power unit with around 1000 hp depending on the power unit manufacturer, in NASCAR they are still using the throaty carbureted V8 made by Toyota, Ford or Chevy (depending on the team), with an output of about 750 hp.Įd. In NASCAR, cars are still made with a steel tube chassis covered with a mixture of carbon fiber/kevlar and fiberglass body panels. In Formula 1, cars are made to be as lightweight as possible, made of mostly composite materials. And yet, for most F1 fans, it is hard to look at the Daytona 500 and think of it as being in the same league as a Formula 1 Grand Prix at tracks like Spa or Silverstone. It is held in the same way as the Indianapolis 500, Monaco Grand Prix, Bathurst 1000, or 24 Hours of Le Mans for many fans. The Daytona 500 is one of the most famous races in motorsports.
